biggest-lego-set-roman-colisseum.jpg

I’ve always loved LEGO sets. There’s something that’s always been really fun about building them and watching your creation take shape. I like to think of a LEGO set as a buildable puzzle, only you get to play or display it when you’re done constructing it. So it’s somehow fitting that on the biggest shopping day of the year, the company has decided to unveil the largest LEGO set ever.

Linksys AX4200 Mesh Router Review: A Mesh System That Truly Delivers by William Goodman

As radical as the invention of the Internet was, the move from wired to wireless connections was an equally impressive feat. For years, Internet access was tied to a stationary experience, our wired connections keeping us tied in place. WiFi routers changed that, inherently shifting the way we accessed the world wide web and allowing us to work or surf the Internet from our couches without the mess and tangle of wires. For as great as routers are, however, there were some limitations. In recent years, mesh routers have aimed to fix those problems, addressing troublesome areas where coverage lacks. And now, Linksys is looking further to improve that experience with their newest mesh system.

doc-martens-wtap-boots.jpg

Dr. Martens is one of those classic brands that has found a way to reinvent itself constantly. While many British brands are inextricably linked to the British elite and upper class, Dr. Martens has always been a brand of the people, of the working class. Seen as a shorthand for punk or grunge, there’s a certain attitude that comes with wearing a pair, making them a fitting canvas to be worn both on runways and by rockstars. In short: they’re the combat boots for everyone.

Now, the brand has a stylish new boot set to be released on November 28 in the middle of the Black Friday shopping insanity. We expect these boots to sell out fast, so mark your calendars and get ready to mash that “Add To Cart” button. Head to the Dr. Martens website to sign up for updates.

Review: Is the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset Worth the Money? by William Goodman

As one of the flagship audio companies in the industry, Bose stepping into the world of gaming is one of those no-brainer moves. Why not apply the same wonderful tech that revolutionized listening to music and apply it to the dynamic, fast-paced world of video games? The better question: why did it take Bose so long to make this move? With the company’s QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset, Bose has made an impressive first step into the gaming sector.

I deeply admire Bose’s design approach. If you’re anything like me, there’s a good chance you have multiple audio devices for various tasks: I have earbuds for commuting, a gaming headsetnoise-canceling headphones for work, and exercise earbuds that can take a beating. The QuietComfort 35 aims to eliminate at least two of those, folding the gaming headset and noise-canceling headphones into one model. Yes, Bose’s gaming headset basically takes the existing noise-canceling foundation we know and love and adds gaming functionality to it. In and of itself, that is cause enough to get extremely excited. In theory, the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset should offer the best of all worlds.

So do they live up to their promise?

Sure, Star Wars has always been a sprawling space epic that’s managed to captivate and entertain generations of fans. Star Wars is also a huge vehicle for merchandise. After all, who doesn’t want to swing around their own lightsaber, or play with action figures or LEGO sets to recreate their favorite moments, or even wear a cool shirt to let people know of your love?

Outdoor sportswear company Columbia knows how cool Star Wars can be and has worked to bring recreations of some of the franchise’s coolest jackets to life over the last few years. Beginning in 2016 with Rogue One-inspired jackets, Columbia has been reproducing styles inspired by Han, Luke and Leia’s looks from the ice planet Hoth, Empire Strikes Back crew jackets, and even plays on the light and dark side of the force. But for this year, they’ve gone all out and are powering up their hyperdrives to focus on The Mandalorian.

8 Cookware Sets to Help You Become a Top Chef by William Goodman

Sure, there’s a certain amount of technique and skill that goes into cooking food. But if you don’t have the proper tools, cooking becomes a lot more difficult. Buying individual pots and pans is certainly a cheaper way to ensure your kitchen is properly equipped, but there’s something to be said for just getting one big group of pots and pans and calling it a day, which is where cookware sets come into play.

While they often come in different sizes, the idea behind a cookware set is to provide as many different (and useful!) tools in one set. The majority of cookware sets are crafted out of nonstick aluminum to ensure an even heat distribution, strong heat retention, are dish-washer safe, and durable enough to last through thousands of cooks. Oh, and some sets are even stackable to help save on space.

Regardless of which one you choose, there’s an option out of our eight selections that are bound to be perfect for your use. Take a look at our picks below to help you become the next top chef — or at least help you make sure your meals are as good as possible.

8 Propane Fire Pits to Gather Around During Cold Weather by William Goodman

AdobeStock_303216426.jpeg

Let’s face it, when it gets cold outside, it’s hard to want to do anything other than stay indoors. But considering our current COVID reality, it might be nice to get out and see some friends outdoors this winter. Which means we’re going to need other ways to stay warm. This is where a fire pit can be convenient. But what if you don’t want to wait for wood logs to catch fire or even mess around with starting a fire? What if it was as simple as pressing a button? That’s where propane fire pits can make all the difference.

Similarly, your gas grill is powered by a propane tank; the same can be done for a fire pit. This makes for a much easier set-up and activation than a wood-based fire pit and saves you and your clothes from smelling like a bonfire. In fact, the process is all around much easier and can even be warmer than a wood fire. The trade-off is that propane fire pits tend to be a little bit more expensive. But if you’re willing to invest, you might find yourself spending lots and lots of time outdoors (even when it’s cold out).

With that in mind, here are eight of our favorite outdoor gas fire pits to keep you warm, cozy, and social this winter.
